Default Colts knew back in March?

Look at this PFT bomb.

PFT says Luck talked retirement in March

If true, they said we are ok with Brisset and didn't think about getting another QB.

I don't believe that at all.

They had tons of cap space and there were options available. Foles and even Eli Manning, to name two.

No fucking way. Ballard is smarter than that!

Only the naive think sports news is never fake. 98% of the time it is unless it's scores. They'll get to that soon.

Honestly, I am not sure how much better Foles is and Eli is washed up. I say that as someone who is not convinced Brissett is a legit starting QB in the NFL.

I can get with this. Just posted in fact the irony of some of the comments made by our front office.

I just think this guy is both physically and mentally fragile and this team had started to figure it out and was as the article says trying to work through it and see if they could get another run out of him.

I do believe Ballard may think that with practice JB can become the QB1 and lead this team. So if you think about it, if this was all predicated around getting the team transitioned to JB, then maybe, just maybe we can take solace in that situation, that Irsay, Ballard and Reich all sort of pushed back on Andrew and said "you know what, we don't have an answer you are with us and due to that we have to let Jacoby run as QB1 all spring and summer just in case". Boy that would make me feel a little bit better that we got over on him just a little bit.

I think it was Ballard who made some comments about how the team can't just be about the QB, so it seems maybe he was a bit prepared for this?

Foles won a SB, with Reich, not even two years ago.

Eli won two SBs and the Giants have been a mess as an organization lately, not all his fault.

Brissett has won 4 NFL games total.

I know there are extenuating circumstances for all those things, but come on.....those are vast differences.

Yeah now looking back, I think Ballard has been a bit of a skeptic. I am a bit worried about what then would appear to be a hell of a lot of faith in JB, and I actually think a bit more about him than probably most (I took a lot of shit in the Luck shoulder season for saying I thought JB could possibly do the job if given the reins... I am NOT a giant JB supporter at present and I really believe Kelly would prove to be a better QB over a comparable span if time).

So if that is the case, then we know Ballard is going to hitch this thing up to JB and see where it goes.

I will say that the "woe are we at 3-13" crowd, they might want to look at what this defense looks like. This is not your momma's "hey Peyton this whole roster is shit and if you get hurt we are done for" team- Ballard has compiled a hell of a lot of size and speed and I would fully expect us to be able to win 3-4 games this year without scoring more than 2 TDs.
