Cowboys traded a first-round pick to Raiders for WR Amari Cooper, per source.
Damn that move smacks of desperation. No way you give up a first rounder for an inconsistent #2 drop machine.

From Peter King:

Quote:
I think if Terrelle Pryor was a team guy embraced by teammates, this probably would not have happened to him in the last 50 months:

• Cut by Seattle (Aug. 29, 2014)
• Cut by Kansas City (May 15, 2015)
• Cut by Cincinnati (June 18, 2015)
• Cleveland let walk in free agency (March 9, 2017)
• Washington let walk in free agency (March 10, 2018)
• Cut by the Jets (Oct. 20, 2018).

Set free by six teams in four years and two months … This is a man who caught 77 balls for Cleveland in 2016, and he’ll be 30 next season. This is a man who beat Philip Rivers and Ben Roethlisberger in his short trial as Raiders quarterback in 2013, and, in his second life as a receiver, had 144 and 131-yard receiving games for the Browns in 2016. Is that all there is? Sad if so.

I think the Raiders now have 3 first round picks. Wow! Probably will add more if & when they trade Carr. Gruden owns this draft. He better make it count.

He will not make it count.

He LOVE guys who flash a characteristic (speed, strength, agility, etc) instead of whole football players. He will draft guys who will wreck the Raiders for the next five years.

Walk Worthy,

That is SUCH a bad trade for the Cowboys, regardless of how Cooper performs. They receive Cooper for the remainder of this year at a good rate ($700k), but have to pay him $14 million next year. Then he becomes a free agent and they'll have to pay full market value to keep him at that point. So basically when the cost/cap impact are considered, they're really getting very little real "value" out of him (he'll either be overpaid or paid at full market value after this year).

In exchange they give up what is likely to be a mid-first round pick, and the years of cost control they'll receive over the chosen player. Bad move.
