I've heard Forbath is a bit of a headcase and hard to deal with, I'll be surprised if he gets a deal here.

so the silver lining is that Vinny should break the NFL points record at a home game since we are home all next month......I like that. Also, if we need Vinny to beat the raiders then we deserve the L.

George Blanda is dead. Let's get either Don Cockroft or Jim Turner. o

o Like George Blanda, Toni Linhart is also dead. I loved Linhart overall. I'll always remember the game-winning field goal that he kicked in overtime in the next-to-the-last game of the season in 1975. That kick (and that win) proved to be the difference in the Colts finally dethroning the 4-time AFC East champion Dolphins (1971 - 1974.) o

Sounds dumb but here's the thing. They need to bring in someone to help because you will wear out Sanchez's leg if he doing all the kicking in practice and games for how many weeks. They need to sign another kicker just so they can practice. Jugs machines only do so much. Bring back the kid who kick in the preseason. At least on the practice squad. BTW, can anyone name the last guy who did both punting and FG/ XP in the NFL? |

Pre-season kicker was Michael Badgley who is kicking for Chargers over last 2 games. 7 for 7 on XP and 3 for 3 on FG. Signed when Sturgis got hurt

Rather than start a new thread I will put this here since it includes a Vinny update:
Ballard was just on the DD show (renamed the Tyler Trent show today...if you are not aware he's the Purdue kid who was named captain of the Purdue football team in advance of the upset over Ohio State. He's fighting osteosarcoma and is an aspiring sports broadcaster who is partnering with DD today on his show). This was a very brief / feel good interview and the primary purpose is to shed light on the fundraising efforts of Purdue/ Riley hospital for peds cancer research so I only have a couple of hard colts news to share 1. RE AV, he will be playing on Sunday. Ballard mentioned they brought some guys in to try out this week and Vinny was "prancing around, pissed off". He doesn't want anyone else kicking for the Colts. Alrighty then. 2. Took accountability, again, for the fuck up on the line last year. RE: Braden Smith looking good as a tackle....admitted that he was not smart enough to predict that. He said that only Marco Brown (scout on his team) projected that Smith could be an add for that position but the rest of his team projected him as only a Guard. Says he got lucky on this one. That's it, the rest was more about life, experiences, and overcoming hardships. If you aren't familiar with Tyler's story it's a good one. This kid isn't letting his disease keep him from living his best life and pursuing his dream. |
