I actually underestimated the Colts' offense.

The Colts' defense actually played about as well as I had expected them to, as a good amount of points that the Browns scored were partially due to the offense putting the defense in bad positions with turnovers (including fumbling the ball in their own end-zone, which resulted in a Browns touchdown.)

Even more of a bummer is that we're probably not going to be ready to make any real noise until '25 since next season is going to end up being AR's learning season. Especially if Steichen and Cooter redesign things, which they really need to if they want to keep AR healthy.

Yep, if AR can stay healthy we might squeak into a playoff slot next year, but probably not any further. I'll admit I am very fatigued from watching this team over the past 3 seasons. The more i watch other teams and their fans enjoying making playoff and championship runs it pisses me off even more! If AR turns out to be RG3 Jr. I'm not sure I am mentally tough enough to handle it!

Dam may have been right about trading up for Stroud, kid can play and doesn't seem the least bit injury prone. Between him and Lawrence, even with AR we might only be the 2nd or 3rd best team in the division!

I'm not as down on the Colts as you are. 2020 was a pretty good year, and even though 2021 ended in a complete embarrassment we had our moments. Last year was a shit show, but that'll happen sometimes when you don't have a franchise QB in place.

This year I went in expecting us to be bad, so where we're currently at doesn't really bother me. I am nervous about AR staying healthy though

Was just listening to the Colts wrap up. We rank 7th in pass offense and 9th in rush offense. Those are pretty damn impressive rankings considering the QB situation through 7 games and the fact JT was really only back in the mix starting yesterday. I can't remember the stats but we also have really high ranking for plays 20+, 30+, 40+ and 50+ yards. A ton of credit has to go to Steichen for playing a very aggressive style of football. I am not certain that IF we can get a full season out of AR we can't be one of the more explosive offenses in the league next year. Hell AR was already pretty high in explosive plays- put another year in the playbook for him to just absorb, we should really be lethal next year- though I still want one game breaking WR for him.

So much more impressive than what Reich was throwing out there last year. It's like light and day!

See, I think we can make some noise next season. AR is LIGHT YEARS ahead of where I thought he’d be as a passer. He’s already better throwing the ball than Lamar.

He’s had some experience and he’ll have the whole season and offseason to sit in on meetings and learn the playbook.

I think he could really take off next year.

He just has to figure out how to stay healthy.

I could not be more excited about our quarterback.

Right now, this flat-out robbery by the referees looms as a 4-game swing between the Colts and the Browns.

The Browns are currently 7-3 overall, and essentially own a 3-game lead over the Colts, whom are 5-5 ...... the 2 games in which they are mathematically ahead of the Colts, plus an additional game because a tie in the final standings would go to the Browns.

If the referees had done their jobs competently, both teams would be 6-4 right now, with the Colts owning the tie-breaker ...... meaning that the Colts would essentially have a 1-game lead on the Browns in a potential season-ending tie between the 2 teams.

So instead of +1 in head-on competition with the Browns in the AFC standings, the Colts are -3.

All of that said, the Colts need to regroup and put that excruciating loss behind them ...... good teams don't use bad calls and/or the robbery of a game as an excuse to collapse ...... they come back strong, and try to right what they consider to be an injustice by winning the remaining games that they have left on their schedule.
