1. Hope everyone is safe.

2. Is it weird that I've lived in Indiana my whole life and never really encountered extreme weather? 30+ years. All I can think of is one day where they held us after school in elementary school because there was a small tornado relatively nearby, and one day where school was canceled because floodwaters actually made my neighborhood (and other neighborhoods) an island inaccessible by any city access roads. Wanna say that was maybe a Gulf hurricane that became a tropical storm over the Midwest?

Other than that, never really been a tornado in my immediate area, and what ones were at least in the same county prompting warnings were mostly F1 or below. Obviously no hurricanes in Indiana. Hell, even the blizzards here in the last 30 years have failed to compare to '78.

I've lived in 3 countries and 3 states and traveled to 35 countries....experienced tornadoes, blizzards, hurricanes, tropical storms, and earthquakes. They all pale in comparison to my 1 experience driving in the UK in '92 in Freezing Fog. I had never even heard of Freezing Fog before but it's basically driving on Black Ice while you are surrounded by a fog which has turned to ice crystals........I seriously thought I would die that day on the roads and vowed to never be stupid enough to venture out in that shit ever again.

Never heard of freezing fog before and had to look it up. Definitely sounds like bad shit to get caught driving in. I’ve been lucky, worst I’ve experienced is an ice storm when I lived in TN in ‘94. Hell of a lot of down trees and power lines. I think we went three days without power, but that was it. We just stayed in and drank. No real danger.

people are freaking the fuck out over this one. i should be pretty good. i don't have enough emergency water but if we lose power water should still flow anyway. got some batteries and flashlights and propane to grill up some shit. a charchoal backup.

Are you above the water level. Don't want to be in the path of any flooding. I live in Florida part of the year. That stuff can get scary fast.

I've seen a couple almost tornados growing up there, they didn't touch down. I've been in hurricanes and all the fires out here the past couple years. But to me nothing is scarier than a tornado. And they should increase with climate change.
