As much as Titans covet Josh McDaniels, there's little to no shot of landing him this late in the game. The Colts remain heavy favorites
I certainly hope he's just posturing to get a better deal from the Titans as another poster suggested.

Rapoport changing his tune:

@RapSheet
The latest from me and @TomPelissero on Josh McDaniels. Colts very much in it.

@TomPelissero
Even with the #Titans* job open, there remains strong mutual interest between the #Colts and Josh McDaniels, sources tell @RapSheet and me. McDaniels and GM Chris Ballard have a relationship. Can Jon Robinson and the Titans change the game?

As much as I don't want it to be McDaniels, I would much rather see him as HC than Vrabel. Vrabel's coaching resume is way too much like Clappy's (although Clappy's D performed well the 1 year he was DC).

@RapSheet
The #Colts have held strong with their pursuit of #Patriots OC Josh McDaniels and that is expected to be his choice when an offer comes, sources tell me and @TomPelissero.

@TomPelissero
With Josh McDaniels ticketed for the #Colts, former #Cowboys assistant Matt Eberflus is expected to come along as defensive coordinator, I'm told. Lot of parts falling in place now.

And Jake Peetz for OC:

@JasonLaCanfora
As we first reported last week, Matt Eberflus (Cowboys LBs) and Jake Peetz (Raiders QBs) in line as McDaniels coordinators in Indy

Josh McDaniels is a virtual lock be the next coach of the Indianapolis Colts, according to sources.

The Colts were the first team to interview McDaniels during this turn of the coaching carousel, and despite the Titans becoming a surprise entry into the coaching market on Monday, the Patriots offensive coordinator will take the reins in Indianapolis once New England's playoff run is over.

This will be the second head-coaching opportunity for McDaniels, 41, who went 11-17 as Broncos coach in 2009-10. After a year with the Rams as offensive coordinator following that stint in Denver, McDaniels rejoined the Patriots in 2012 and has led an offense that has finished in the top four in points scored for each of the last six seasons.

In Indianapolis, McDaniels will get the chance to work with one of football's top talents at quarterback in Andrew Luck, provided Luck's health doesn't continue to hold him back.
