The Texans interviewed Colts DC Matt Eberflus for their head coaching job today, per source.

Eberflus initially declined an interview, but Houston made another push in recent days. A respected candidate who also remains in the Chargers mix.

If he takes that job, he's a complete moron. You're just asking to be fired in a couple of years if you take that job.

I’ve asked around a lot with folks very attached to the Houston Texans situation.

It’s worse than we even think it is on the outside.

And that says a lot

The Chargers are hiring Rams DC Brandon Staley as their new head coach, sources tell me and Tom Pelissero. An impressive young candidate, he gets a prime job in LA.

The Chargers top choice all along, Brandon Staley put his resume on the field all season. Now Staley stays in LA... and may not even have to move.

With a stealth hiring process, the Chargers quietly scheduled a second interview with Staley for after his playoff games. He had other interviews scheduled, but LAC had no intention of letting him leave.

I don’t believe you should ever turn down an interview. It’s always a good experience and you’ll learn a lot by the different questions are asked by different companies. And it gives you an idea either just how good your situation is or why you should leave where you’re at and go someplace different
