So, which UDFA do you think has the best chance to make the team?
At fiirst glance, I would like to say Peters, but the competition is so fierce at CB. Desir, Wilson, Moore and Ya-Sin are locks. That would leave Peters fighting it out with Collins, Tell and Hairston for the 5th and final spot. I suppose they could keep 6 if they count Tell as a combo CB/FS. That brings me to Penny Hart who will be battling the likes of Cain,Fountain, Ishmael, Johnson, Rogers, Hogan and Pascal. IDK...you guys tell me where does a UDFA have chance to break in? Man this competition stuff is a beautiful thing. Even BP was never able to stack the roster with this much depth because he...to be fair, fell in love with physical midgets in the later rounds from both size and speed standpoints. Then he was hamstrung by the cap and his incompetent son Chrissy. |

From this group, one could potentially crack the final roster and maybe two make the practice squad. Again, they have to perform in camp and turn some heads. It will be difficult with so many draft picks to challenge for spots, but this front office / coaching staff has shown the ability to cut bait (even with a draft pick) if they don't like what they see. The TE Hale Hentges received a larger signing bonus of the ones reported. He was mainly a blocking TE at Alabama but the Colts may view him as a project - he might make the practice squad. |

I am not professing to knowing any of the guys, but purely on the fact that he brings a different skill set to the table i would agree it is most likely Hale Hentges the TE from Alabama. He has started a lot of games for a 4 time National title game team. He is not really much of a threat out of the backfield, but he is a good in-line blocking tight end, which is something the Colts have not really had on the roster for quite a while. He might very well be a player who makes the 53 man roster but is only active for specific matchups where we need to be more physical.

I would add to my comment, that anyone who has been a 4 year starter for a national powerhouse like Alabama, has to have some major league talent to work with.

Ashton Dulin is listed twice. I have seen it reported that Louisiana-Lafayette S Corey Turner has been signed and seen it reported that he is a mini-camp try-out only. Last edited by AlwaysSunnyinIndy; 04-29-2019 at 06:32 AM. |

Looks to be about 75 players on the roster right now. What is the limit? 90?
