Take the one thing holding the Ravens back away from them, and give them Stroud as a replacement? No, thank you. I don't think getting fleeced by Eric DeCosta, who would demand at least 2 first round picks for Lamar, sounds like a good idea. If you're trading 2 1s this offseason, trade them to Chicago to get up to #1 overall.

That’s a dumb article. Lamar Jackson would be a mistake, the dude has disappeared, you can’t make him the hope of your franchise.
Payton is too expensive, saints would want a draft pick. Harbaugh just isn’t leaving Michigan. It doesn’t all spell some conspiracy to just hire Saturday. |

I would say the Colts are built the most similarly to the Ravens from an offense perspective of any team in the league. And if Lamar only cost dollars, I'd be all for pursuing him. It’s that he would cost a quarter of a billion of guaranteed money, AND give one of the 5 best GMs in the league the ammunition he needs to permanently fix what has consistently been the biggest challenge on his roster in the #4 overall pick, not to mention then the Colts don't have that resource to help build their roster. It's just an all around bad idea for the Colts. Great idea for the Ravens, though. |

Lamar is not any more risky (less in my opinion) than trading up and taking a QB. I am against it because of all the guaranteed money we would have to give him. A bad gamble money wise. Tough to build a roster |

This sounds like something Houston would do! Colts tried to win now with Wentz and Ryan, the team just has too many holes, a deal like this would set them back even further! I think Colts have their eyes on a couple of coaches still in the playoffs, we will see something happen pretty quickly once their teams are eliminated or the SB is over.
Keep your picks and rebuild. As bad as things were this season, I don't believe the Colts are that far away from having a decent team.

I’m starting to think he’s right about Saturday being the choice all along.
I mean, Wink Martindale? Come on. |

What if Saturday got exactly the result Irsay wanted him to get? Don't get me wrong, I'm not in favor of Saturday returning as coach, but did we really see him as the Head Coach or just someone managing a sinking ship? It is possible that given the off season, some better position coaches of his choice and a good draft, Saturday might not do that bad?

But he runs the ball more than any QB and he's been doing it since halfway through his rookie year. That's a lot of RB-hits to take for a QB. The past two seasons, he's missed five games each. And both times it's like the last month+ of the season. Wearing down by the end of the season? That style of play already makes you worry about individual freak hits that could take him out. Then factor in the wear-and-tear that will eventually catch up. And then on top of all that, he wants a Deshaun Watson-style guaranteed $40m-$50m/yr. The $250m deal he was offered wasn't good enough. Not to mention he apparently healthy scratched himself from a fucking playoff game. No thanks. |
