Soccer is dumb.

Hope they don’t end up playing there

Very

I wonder how the new turf will affect injuries. Does it help prevent injuries at all?

It's got to be better than the stuff they had in the Hoosier Dome or 80's cookie cutter stadiums. Very little padding, just brutal in below freezing weather.

I remember walking on it when I was a kid. I was really surprised at how thin it felt. Getting tackled hard on that surface must've been brutal.

Heh, I got to play one football game in the old Hoosier dome as part of the "High School" football series they used to run. This was my senior year so the fall of 1986.

Left Offensive Tackle. Ball on probably our 40. QB takes the snap, passes it to the left sideline for an INT (we sucked, won 1 game that season).

I take off running to the sideline to try and get the guy without my head on a swivel and "bam" get completely decleated from the right side by someone from the opposing team. The video showed me landing heels over head on my helmet and shoulderpads from the hit.

I had bruises for a month down my right side from hitting the deck. Shoulder, arm, ribs, hip, leg. Yeah, that surface was hard.

Walk Worthy,

I never played in the Hoosier Dome, but I took a tour their shortly after it opened back when I was 11 or 12.

I was shocked at the playing surface. It was like concrete with a one inch or so thin pad of felt grass on top of it. I couldn't imagine diving, falling, tackling, kneeling or even running on that for a quarter, let alone a whole game.

Glad the new stuff is so much better.

Now anyone have some comments on Quenton Nelson's jockstrap technology?

The offseason is SO DAMN LONG in this league. Can't wait for even preseason in three weeks.
