Patrick Peterson
Figured I’d throw out a thread for this. He wants to be traded. Would you guys give anything for him? I don’t know much about him personality-wise. Would Ballard ever consider it? We need corner help and have lots of cap space. And Peterson is still fairly young I would think.

I imagine he would want to go to a team better than us. Good player but don’t see it.

For a mid-round draft pick for sure, can't see them going for that.

I love Patrick Peterson. Good player, good teammate. I wonder what they would want for him.

Patrick Peterson
2018 Cap Hit = $14.956m 2019 Cap Hit = $11.885m 2020 Cap Hit = $13.184m 2021 = UFA So, if you trade for him, you are FOR SURE getting 2 1/2 years of service out of him. Born 11 Jul 1990; age 28 now 2019 = 29 years old 2020 = 30 years old 2021 = 31 years old Not too old yet in CB years. Stats: 2018 / 07 games / 35 tackles / 2 TFL / 2 INT / 3 PD / 1.0 sack 2017 / 16 games / 34 tackles / 0 TFL / 1 INT / 8 PD / 0.0 sack 2016 / 16 games / 50 tackles / 1 TFL / 3 INT / 6 PD / 0.0 sack 2015 / 16 games / 33 tackles / 0 TFL / 2 INT / 8 PD / 0.0 sack Not a huge INT or PD producing machine but one who has been a full time starter on a defense that has been pretty good over the past couple of years. Of note, he has not missed a single game as an NFL player and has started every single one of the them (119 in total). PFF Grades (for those that care): 2018 = 83.3 2017 = 69.2 2016 = 79.5 2015 = 83.4 The grades back up the fact that he has been playing at "NFL Superior" to "NFL Above Average" levels for the past 4 years which is good to see. We need CB help going forward. I like Kenny Moore a lot for a young CB and Desir is playing himself into a pretty nice longer-term contract but we could still use another top end veteran to go along with our young guys still developing (Wilson and Hairston). I would offer our 3rd round pick for Peterson. He is young enough to think you will get at least the 2 1/2 years of his current contract service out of him and possibly a few more good years after that. Great mentor for the younger kids out there and he is a high level performer. CB is one of our weakest position groups on the team going forward (along with WR). Getting a veteran of Peterson's skillset and talent for a 3rd round pick would be a pretty good way of shoring up that position. Walk Worthy,

He might certainly be able to mentor Wilson that’s for sure. But I don’t think he likes playin zone and wants to play in a man scheme Perhaps the scheme here could change if we could bring in the right players. Hooker is probabaly better in man and I think Wilson flashed in man last It a lot more than he is this yr
But I doubt it happens

I agree w/you that Hooker was better-suited for Pagano's scheme. I hope they make adjustments to feature him more. He needs to be making plays on the ball. |

I wonder how many prime years Peterson has left, though? He would be a great get for a contender, or if the Colts hadn't made the egregious mistake of wasting last year with Pagano & co and were a year further ahead in their rebuild. But he just feels like the kinda player whose career will be trending down when the Colts are finally in place to contend.

Apparently, ARI has said "no" to any trade offers for Peterson for 2018.
Oh well, have to find a stud in the draft. Walk Worthy,
