INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts took a look at a young quarterback from an unlikely place earlier this week.
Indianapolis tried out CFL quarterback Nathan Rourke on Wednesday, getting a closer look at a passer who has reportedly tried out for Jacksonville, Denver and Tampa Bay in addition to the Colts, according to 3DownNation reporter Justin Dunk.
Rourke, 24, is coming off of a breakout season that won him the Most Outstanding Canadian Award, the CFL’s equivalent of the MVP. Rourke, who played his college football at Ohio, is 6-1, 210 pounds and a native of British Columbia.

Playing for his hometown Lions, Rourke completed 78.7% of his passes for 3,349 yards, 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, sparking the interest of the NFL. Rourke also rushed 39 times for 304 yards and seven touchdowns.
Because of all the interest, Rourke is expected to get a chance in the NFL next season. Whether it will be Indianapolis remains to be seen.
