Default Give Taylor something

Bump his salary up to $8 Million and change and guarantee the money.

Get him off the sidelines, out of that hoodie, and back to practice. I don’t like the idea of rewarding guys for this kind of behavior, but nothing good ever comes from getting into a pizzing match with your all pro RB, and it never hurts to make the first step towards reconciliation.

The bottom line is that having him on the field increases the chances for success, and it helps in Richardson’s development. The last thing we need is for a rookie QB to walk into a toxic locker room.

If I thought we could find a greater fool willing to give up a 1st round draft pick for him, I’d say trade. But, I don’t see anyone willing to do that.

Sure, you can play hardball. Taylor has no leverage. But do you really want to see a sulking Taylor stalking the locker room for the next 5 months? Playing hardball is a little like cutting off your nose to spite your face.

He needs to prove he is healthy and is the 2021 Taylor version first. That means to me he needs to get back on the field.

Enabling this behavior from others by rewarding it here, seems like that to me.

We can find another runningback.

If he's going to do that, just waive him. I just looked it up: he has fewer than 4 accrued seasons in his career. He can be waived, and then go through the waiver wire and see what he's worth to the other clubs. If he still doesn't like the money offered, then he's done in the NFL.

First off, we'd have to assume that he's actually healthy and faking it. So assuming he's healthy... working out an extension in the $8m/yr range is very reasonable. However, as far as we know, the word is that Taylor wanted top-RB money which is double that...

Which is not reasonable, on top of assuming he's even healthy. They didn't budge with Moore, they shouldn't budge with Taylor.

Problem with that is the Colts get nothing in return. Trade or preferably franchise tag.

Can't tag him until next year. He'd be paid more than now, but not as much as he wants. We'd still have the same problem. I doubt we'd get much of anything in a trade right now since nobody knows if he's injured or not. I'd rather get nothing in return and be rid of him then have a malcontent harming the dressing room all season. Like Mr. Session said above, we can find another running back. Just my 2¢ anyway.
