So weird to see, as much as the media HATED Ryan Grigson (and don't underestimate the real hate out there), they LOVE everything Ballard does. The drooling over these hires has been everywhere.

Truth is probably somewhere in between on all, of course.

Lots and lots of folks can analyze a player's physical traits and performances and say whether they have the physical skills to perform as desired. The hardware is there.

But climbing inside the brain to test out the software? That is the tricky part.

I am not sold on this guy's method because the Browns did end up drafting Jonny Money but since he was not in the room when he did it......

I love that Ballard is trying outside the box to figure this stuff out. He really does not feel like a first year GM.

Cheers,

Could be a case of judging them based on their personalities

I love the fact that Ballard seems to have a plan. The fact that what Decker did seems to have worked with special forces gives me enough faith in it to at least give it a try. The proof will come during the season (not Decker, that will take 2-4 years to fully see if it works) but so far it's good to be a Colt fan. I'm enjoying the off season. Hopefully I'll enjoy the season as well.

Decker is an interesting hire. I like, shows Ballard is thinking outside the box and willing to try to get a leg up on the competition in creative ways.

Also this,

@RapSheet
Another big hire by #Colts: Former #Redskins & #Browns personnel man Morocco Brown expected to join GM Chris Ballard’s staff. 3 strong ones.
