Default An Absolute Travesty!

If Freeney and Mathis are not in the top 5 of all time, as a pass rush duo, then somebody has been living under a rock.

Why are Ware and Miller on the list for a combined 2 seasons?

Is this a one season list or a career list? That seems unclear?

Single season or career, no reason Freeney and Mathis should not appear on that list.

Freeney went out of town with a whimper. Mathis got caught juicing and then eroded away. The Colts have been irrelevant for 2 years, and Indiana in general isn't on the national radar. Don't make too much of this dumb list. Some slap-nuts probably had to meet a deadline and crapped it out.

So tonight's list was the top 5 Qb and WR duo and again Elliott Harrison snubbed the Colts. To be clear the criteria is all time....not one season. Montana Rice and Brady Moss were 1 and 2. You'd surely think Manning and Harrison would be 3, 4, or 5.......but no. Big Ben and Joe Nameth were deemed more worthy. Reggie Wayne happened to be on the show tonight (NFL access) when the list was revealed and both he and the host went off on this douchbag for leaving the Colts off the list.....and they showed the stats that supported the manning/Harrison duo and even the manning/Wayne stats which were superior to others on the list. His response was that manning carried the duos and the others were more of a partnership. Such garbage.

I am really okay with this. Let the national talking heads keep making fools of themselves. Hopefully, it lights a fire under our players to overachieve.

However, this type of media will continue to turn flyover country NFL fans away from the sport. Folks love to watch sports because of the competitive nature of the game. While there are always quibbles (was that a hold? Did he get his toe in AND have possession? Was his arm moving forward when the ball was stripped?), by and large sports have a very empirical nature to them that allows for the bias to be left at the door and the contest between athletes on a level playing field to be highlighted.

The "political" nature that has crept into sports reporting is only going to turn more and more folks away from sports as they launch into the "WWF realm" of entertainment. Sports broadcasters whom construct all of their analysis with an agenda are just as bad as the political reporters who only ever report one side of an issue. Both turn folks away from their reporting.

Anyway, the duo of Manning/Harrison is top 3 at worst and Freeney/Mathis is also at the top of the list somewhere. Heck, Manning/Wayne outperformed many of the duos on that list.

Cheers,

Joe Namath was one of the most overrated quarterbacks of all time. How he could be on any list is ridiculous. Most of these lists are put out by idiots who wouldn't know their ass from a hole in the ground.

Joe Namath is the most overrated QB of all-time, and I say that at a time that fuckwits are calling 5 time cheater (0 time champion) Tom Brady the greatest QB of all time when he's the second greatest of his era.
