While he might be arguing with himself, the pessimistic C&O makes a good point that the schedule gets a lot tougher from here on out. No easy games left until maybe the last week of the season vs. Jax, but since we always play like shit against them then that probably isn't either. We certainly won't be able to get away with hitting the snooze button for the first quarter or so of the game anymore.

The Bengals lost to the Colts 2 weeks ago, and beat the Titans this week ...... "Thank You" cards are in the mail.

I think that the first portion of the title of this article is the most important message that Reich can give to this team going forward ...... the Colts won't make excuses for Titans Bludgeoning.

Colts Won't Make Excuse for Titans Bludgeoning, but They Deserve to Be Excused

I think his list of the five most important is incorrect. Leonard is more important than Rivers. I say it is Buckner, Nelson, Castanzo, Leonard and Kelly.

Trying to be as objective as a rabid Colts fan can be, I have a sense that many AFC contending teams view the 2020 Colts as "a team that we wouldn't mind avoiding in the playoffs."

In addition to their solid 9-4 overall record, I believe that the close, hard-fought win over the Packers last month caught many teams' (and fans of those teams) attention.

So while it's still quite possible that the Colts either don't make the playoffs in the first place, or that they get eliminated in the post-season prior to the AFC Championship game, I believe that the other side of that same coin (a scenario in which the Colts make the playoffs AND advance at least to the AFC Championship game) is also very much in play.

I think the teams that SHOULD want to avoid Indy in the playoffs are Buffalo and Pittsburgh. Buffalo because I can see Josh Allen throwing three or four picks against this D, and Pittsburgh because they have no run game right now, and I think a one-dimensional offense isn't going to do well against the Colts the way they have been playing (especially in the second half).

I would like the Colts to avoid Cleveland and (obviously) KC, if they can, for as long as possible.

This team is better than Cleveland. They can beat them.

This team has a mental hurdle they need to clear to beat Pittsburgh.

They've proven they can beat Kansas City.

(DECEMBER 21st)

The Steelers just lost to the Bengals.

The Steelers just went 4 consecutive games of scoring less than 20 points. The last time that that happened while Ben Roethlisberger was their starting quarterback was ...... in 2004, his rookie season.

The table is set for the Colts. They can beat the Steelers and still have a realistic shot at the #2 or the #3 seed, or they can lose and have to (likely) settle for a Wildcard berth.

We haven't beaten them in like 30 years, but I think we have an outside chance. Winning in Pittsburgh would be great!
