Glowinski was not supposed to be our starting RG. Smith was supposed to be our backup RG, not RT. Omaha was right, even if you don't think he was. It is kind of like the blind squirrel analogy, I know, but he was correct.

I am sure you can find it if you look hard enough
I just went back and looked at nine draft profiles / scouting reports on Smith.

In 7 of the 9, they reference his short arms as a reason that he has to stay on the inside in the NFL.

In 6 of the 9, they reference his slow feet as a reason that he has to stay on the inside in the NFL.

8 of 9 of them projected him in the 2nd round as an OG. The 9th thought he might slip to the top of the 3rd round.

All of them talked about him being a good prospect with a lot of playing experience against tough SEC defenses.

Obviously over the past seven games, he has shown that he CAN play OT in the NFL at pretty high levels. He might be an all-pro right OG in the NFL but he is also an above average right OT.

Walk Worthy,

Talent alone doesn't do shit. Look at the articles that state how well prepared our offensive line is. Coaching counts more than anything. Look at the facts. Great coaches just keep finding a way to win. The greatest examples to me are Lombardi and a guy named George Allen. Allen took old over the hill players who knew how to play as a team and won. I don't think Lombardi ever had a losing season. That is like ever. Look at our defense this year. Do you think that the defense has improved so much because these guys have developed talent over the last 5-6 games or have they been coached up?

Not to mention how many castoffs we have that are producing here. Not just starting, but actually producing, so don't bring that lame argument that anyone could have come in here and started.

I called him a backup because he was a backup. If your memory is that bad, maybe you should refrain from questioning other people’s intelligence

I think it all about his stance.

That counts more than anything.

1) I didn't question anyone's intelligence.

2) You were technically correct, but anyone who has followed football for more than 10 minutes knows that a team doesn't pick a player 37th overall to make them a backup. That player is likely to get many opportunities to start.
