(Film Room) Why I believe Colts released Roosevelt Nix.
I know a lot of Colts fans were excited when the Colts signed Nix to a small, 1 year contract, earlier in the off-season.
But when it happened, I checked the film on him, and did not like what i saw. I figured the Colts were just taking a flier. The Steelers did not release him because he was injured a year, no team releases a player due to a single injured season, if they believe he is still a Pro Bowler. This is a few plays I saw on Nix, and why I believe he's been released. https://youtu.be/5NNhj84Eyik |

I am less surprised we cut him than I am we signed him, why waste a roster spot. The pats and a few teams get use out of a FB, but it is pretty niche an I would rather keep Wilkins or an additional TE.

Its hard to find room for a FB now, especially if you have injuries at another position like we do at TE. A lot of TEs can play h-back if necessary now as well.

A FB seems like a luxury now-a-days unless you can find like a Mike Alstott. Love me some Alstott. Although he was really just a big RB.
