I like it since I am guessing 10 mill of the 14 guaranteed is in the first year. He sucks he should be easy to cut.

And it won't limit them from making other moves the next two years. Pay him a bunch up front and leave the back end of the deal flexible.

Welcome to Indy Big Hank, this should help further Ballard's assertion of BPA in the draft

BPA in rounds 1 and 2 should be Reuban Foster, OLB[Rush] or CB. Those are our largest needs on defense.

If BPA is not there, then trade back for more mid-round picks and then pick BPA at CB or OLB[Rush].

I like this move. Nose tackle seems to be the one spot that this draft is not good or deep. We payed to much but what was the alternative? I think we overpayed maybe 3 million a year. Worth it in that there were not good alternatives at NT. Draft defense.

I agree, deal was a little salty perhaps. Not sure of the structure but imagine if he pulls an Art Jones he will be gone. But I do like what the guy can bring to the Colts.

Damn! Starting to like Ballard more and more. Not sure how all this shakes out, but on the surface Ballard has done a hell of a job in free agency.

None of it matters if he doesn't draft well. These UFA moves range from meh to good, but the draft is where he needs to hit his doubles and home runs.

Yep, this was a good signing, but if this team is going to succeed, it will be because they drafted well in the next 2-3 drafts.
