That would be the best way for the Colts to approach it and be upfront with him about that. He at most has a couple of seasons left, so moving on to the next kicker now is not the worst thing ever, but first you got to find that guy.

Vinatieri's a big boy. I respect whatever decision he makes. If he thinks today was an outlier and he thinks he has more in the tank then by all means we should welcome him back with open arms. And if he walks away then that is that. Send him the nice watch in the mail with the certificate thanking him for his 50 years of service.

I have felt for a while this might be his last season. I wont be upset either way he decides. Great career, great colt. I am glad he has played longer for us then the pats.
