It shouldn't affect the game at all, but there is a possibility that it could have a slight effect on the Chiefs because of the historical monkey that is on their backs.

If I had to bet one way or the other, I would say that it won't have any effect at all ........ but the players are human, so it's possible that they could feel a little extra pressure than if it were being played as the AFC Championship and/or if it were a team other than the Colts (who have been a thorn in their postseason sides over the last quarter of a century.)

Hard to say but one thing is certain, they are a team not to be underestimated.

This game has the potential of being like an arena game in terms of points scored. In order for the Colts to win, they need to run, run, run. The most effective defense against this team is to not let their offense on the field very often. Long, successful, sustained drives and scoring in excess of 40 points will be needed.

This should be fun.

(23 YEARS AGO TODAY)

With the windchill at -9 Fahrenheit, the Colts followed up their Wildcard upset win over the Chargers with an even bigger upset of the #1 seed Kansas City Chiefs in western Missouri.

AFC Player of the Year Steve Bono was picked off 3 times that day by Ashley Ambrose, Quentin Coryatt, and Eugene Daniel.

2 of those 3 INT's occurred in the 4th quarter, with the Colts' defense being put on the spot in a game in which points were at a premium.

He is going to throw 3 interceptions.

They will test Colts early on first pass and It will get picked off.

The Colts are 4-0 vs. the Chiefs in the postseason since 1995.

3 of those 4 wins were rather historic (2 huge upsets in the AFC Divisional playoff round, and 1 that was the 2nd biggest comeback win in postseason history (1933 - Present.)

The only one of those 4 postseason wins against the Chiefs that was not particularly memorable and/or historic was the 2006 Wildcard playoff win ........ the Colts were playing at home, they were favored to win, and they won the game rather handily (23-8.)

History doesn’t matter in this game. Coaching does. BOOM!
