Actually, that was bad kicking on Gay's part.

The run on 3rd down was to give Gay a reasonably good chance to make a field goal, and it did ...... an incomplete pass would have made it a 60-yard attempt. Taylor's 6-yard run made it a more reasonable 54-yard attempt, and Gay just shanked it wide.
