Yes that '05 team was awesome, should have been champs that year

The '06 team that actually won was mediocre and stepped it up on D in the playoffs.

They kind of cancel each other out, but would have rather they won with that '05 team. Best overall Colts team since they have been in Indy.

Mediocre? I get that the 06 team wasn’t as good as the 05 team, but let’s not get carried away. They were 9th in the NFL in point differential. They were good, not great.

Yes mediocre

The run D was horrible, probably the worst in the league to ever win a SB.

23rd ranked D overall. 32nd ranked 3rd down D. 31st ranked red zone D.

Completely propped up by the offense that year, which was loaded everywhere.

Gave up 173 yards a game on the ground. 5.3 yards per carry

The acquisition of Booger McFarland was huge as well.

Great points.

How was the run D during the playoffs? Thats what counts. How many rushing yards did they give up in jacksonville? Nobody cares, they won a super bowl.

It just won't be as enjoyable on Sunday watching Brissett/Hoyer instead of Andrew...or even a young Chad Kelly.

Brisket and Hoyer make me want to barf, but given the circumstances that Luck left them in, it's probably the best the Colts could do at this point. My overall excitement level for the season has dropped from 95% to about 40% though. We'll see how it goes.

Perhaps alcohol would help?
