No I mean the one where his D was rolling out the red carpet for the game-tying or game-winning drive and with Boger's crew having proven they were suspect at making the correct call, they could've easily turned a blind eye to a close call and kept the ball with the Jags.

I don't disagree with your post, by the way. I'm just using it to expound on a thought. |

Less blitzing, at least in this game. I'm not sure why though.

This is a young team especially the defense that is void of the requisite play makers right now. Obviously Leonard is a baller. We will have see about the rest. First year head coach as well. Today was a hard fought W that I'm certain we would have lost under Pagano. This is the way our season is going to be. Hard fought games all out effort. I'm good with that. I can see that things are getting better & the Colts are on the upswing. Ballard needs to have a good offseason & we are in biz.
Some people want things to happen overnight. You don't start from the top. You build on the way up. |

Offense rules the NFL now. I would argue guys that can force turnovers are almost as important. Makes Leonard very valuable.

The defense is still just bad.
Obviously the early defense and the sack totals were a mirage. No pass rush the last month and the d has regressed to the mean, or more like the bottom, since then. But luckily the offense has stepped it up. Until today in the second half. More of what we saw against the Jets Drops, mistakes, bad play calls. But a win is a win. Take it and move on. And the refs were AWFUL today. COMPLETELY missed an obvious hold on the long screen to set up a TD. Two of the "defensive holding calls" were complete BS. And that low hit on the block on the run back PAT was crap too. He hit him at the waist and the defender was running away from him. I was surprised they overturned the last fumble though. |
