Anyone know what Drew Brees, post-surgery recovery time was from his torn Labrum?

Don't know the timeline but his surgery was performed Jan 3rd or 5th and he was back by the start of the season in September.

James Andrews has said in the past Brees' recovery from that injury is the most remarkable he's ever witnessed. Hopefully Brees is not the exception to the rule. I am skeptical that others should expect to be so lucky and could see Luck attempting to come back just to have his shoulder let him down.
Of course they are different, but nothing I said couldn’t conceivably be the case. I was just saying that it could be any number of things that suggest to the Colts that Andrew needs to throw in order to overcome this stage of his rehab.

As for labrum injuries, Rich Hill started two games in the World Series after having what the doctor described as the “worst looking shoulder” injury he’d seen.

I think it's just as likely he doesn't want to rush back during this clusterfuck of a season with this clusterfuck of a staff. Maybe he's thinking "look, my shoulder still hurts and there's no point in coming back in a rush this season anyway. Why not just take my time and be 100 percent sure?"

I refuse to believe he's considering retirement. He's never even hinted at that and has ALWAYS said he'd be back better than ever.

If he is that shitty of a teammate then we should trade him. I don't think that is a likely scenario.

Widely considered one of the absolute smartest guys to come into the league in a long long time- rumored to have been looking to attend MIT instead of Standford (what's that decision combo- probably .003 of the high school students looking to decide on their college of choice?).

This isn't Rapelessburger or Vince Young we are talking about here- we're talking a veritable genius.

If you don't think a guy this smart, backed by a dad who has done absolutely everything you could imagine within the industry of high level sports, isn't looking at this globally and looking at this organization and having his stomach gurgle at the potential damage that could be done to him that could negatively impact his life for the next 40 years, well that's just naive.

If no medical obstacle and the org wants him to throw and he's not- there's an issue with the relationship between the player and the org. OR, the player doesn't want to play the game anymore. I'm speculating it is the first and this is a very discreet way for him to try to delicately escape without being made a huge enemy of the state.

I am fine with Luck taking another year if he wants to rehab from this and taking it slow

There is no need for him to rush or push it to come back.

If he is just slow playing it because he is dissatisfied with the team and doesn't want to step on the field behind a bad line with a bad team, I am fine with that as well

I don't think that scenario necessarily makes him a bad teammate. If he's still feeling pain, he SHOULDNT come back.

it could also be that top brass (not pagano) is delaying his return because the season isnt going anywhere and he isnt 100%. I think if the surgery had gone well and he rehabed well he would be playing. Since there are still some lingering issues, they are not putting him out there with this team. He wont play until next year.
