That's his job in the cover two, don't let anything behind him. Patrol the deep half of his field. Or the deep as a single high. Literally why they are called safeties.

Isn't cover 2 for longer than a 3rd & 3? Tighten up and play the short pass, this guy isn't beating anyone deep with a throw. Hooker could've at least been within 10 yards of the LOS.
