interesting....
@spotrac If #Eagles fans are angry now, wait until Frank Reich pulls a Doug Pederson and sits Carson Wentz every 3rd quarter to ensure the 2022 pick remains a 2nd round pick, not a first. |

I like this move for the sole reason that I don’t think they had any other realistic options, without selling the farm to do it. |

I also like how we can get out after two years if need be. If he does return to form the salaries/cap hits dont look too bad and we have a QB signed for next 4 years. should be interesting to watch!

Ballard did as well as could be expected locking up a potential top 10 QB, for a possible 4 yrs @ $25mm per.
No real downside to this trade, particularly because the potential 1st round pick isn't from this years draft. Our team should be built after this years draft. |

Seems like a decent deal for us. If Wentz turns things around and plays well, then we're set at QB with only giving up a 3rd and 1st.
What will suck is if he doesn't turn it around and we have to give up a 2nd next year for a bust. Plus next year is even, so if Ballard follows his trend we'll be giving up a likely really good player (as opposed to his odd year 2nd rounders which have all sucked). |
