I don't accept your fiat-based argument. Evidence is required.

The way I see it, when Ballard was hired, the decision was made to keep Pagano for the 2017 season and let Ballard assess the team and take needed time to get the right coach to come in at the end of the season. I'm thinking that Ballard already has his man hired verbally and he and that man are assessing the current crop of Colts players and planning the 2018 season. Hopefully, they'll have a healthy Luck to get it started in the right way. I also think that at least 40% of the roster will be gone before next year. Players now are on notice that how they do for the rest of this year will determine if they're with the club to begin next year. Even though they lost last week, I thought I saw players giving a little more than before. Maybe they realize that they're playing for a chance to be here next year. Pagano is a lame duck and I think the players know it. They're no longer playing for him, they're playing for their football lives. They still suck, but at least they're more entertaining.

I've watched the games. Who am I gonna trust? You or my lying eyes? I've never piled on you, but jeez dude, enough already.

Guys like TJ Green, Kamar Aiken, the whole OL, etc are clearly NOT held accountable even still. So now he's selectively choosing where to dole out accountability. As opposed to not doing it at all. Which is even worse. That's not shifting the argument. That's calling it as we see 'em. As opposed to just fantasizing about Pagano. |

Most Colts fans: "We don't like that Pagano doesn't hold players accountable." Pagano: *Starts clearly and unmistakably holding players accountable* Most Colts fans: "We don't like the way in which Pagano is holding players accountable." Logically, that is textbook moving the goalposts fallacy. |

I haven't been critical of Ballard. He's actually made good moves for the most part thus far, but no GM could've undone all of Grigson's damage in one off-season. And no coach could've taken this roster, especially with no Luck, to the playoffs. That's not moving the goalposts, that's being aware of the talent on the roster.
