Brisset is a very talented athlete. He can make all the throws he can run and probably has better physical skill than half the QBs in the league now.

He just doesn't have the mental part yet. And it's hard to learn when your only thought is don't get killed on this play over and over

If he were behind a good oline he would be much better. And he is going to need a season in the system to get a better indersatanding of it

I don't want to trade him and this next draft class is pretty deep for QBs. So his value goes down because of that. But I doubt he is going to want to be a backup for very long. Right or wrong. He will want a shot

He potentially has a good situation coming up for his career. Assuming our next HC is either offensive or can bring in a good OC that fits Luck's skills and can be tailored to our playmakers, Brisset will be in good position to learn that mental side, play in a good system that protects the QB and let's him use his strengths. He could develop into a solid starter, which is good for the team (draft picks) and for him (even bad starting QBs make lots of money). And in the meantime we have a strong backup QB when we need it.

None of this can happen with the current trash coaching staff.
