2024 Draft Class signings
With the last 2 CBA's, most of these rookie contract negotiations are more formalities rather than hard extended negotiations.
3rd round draft picks seem to have the most terms to negotiate so they can sometimes take the longest to settle. So far the Colts have signed: DE Laiatu Latu (1st Round) LB Jaylon Carlies (5th Round) CB Jaylin Simpson (5th Round) CB Micah Abraham (6th Round) DT Jonah Laulu (7th Round) https://www.colts.com/news/colts-sig...am-jonah-laulu |

The Colts signed 5th Round draft pick WR Anthony Gould.
The only unsigned draft pick remaining is WR Adonai Mitchell. https://www.colts.com/news/anthony-g...-pick-returner |

The second round signings were a little slow last year, too. Last season the NFL Players Association urged the 2nd Round Draft Picks (and their agents) to push for more guaranteed money in their contracts. I'd have to go back and look how far into the second round the higher guarantees were made. But maybe looking at this year's class tells us the answer? Look at all the players around Mitchell's draft position that remain unsigned: Draft picks 47 through 61 are all unsigned (Mitchell was selected at 52). Once 3 or 4 players from that group are signed, the Colts and Mitchell's agent will probably wrap up their negotiations. |
