Colts place RB Evan Hull on IR - out at least 4 weeks
Hopefully Moss is close to returning. With the open roster spot, the Colts have promoted Jake Funk to the active roster.

Jordan Schultz is now reporting that Hull will miss the entire season.
If true, this will be the third rookie to have their season ended early due to injury (would join S Daniel Scott and OT Jake Witt) https://twitter.com/Schultz_Report/s...00216896225504 Quote:

It could be that IR is a good place to stash them so they can gain football size/training to be ready for year 2. Experience would be a good thing for them to gain, but if they are a backup, and not going to play much anyway, let them go on IR and work out instead of getting injured again.

It feels that way, but I don't think it is really true. Tracking by IR puts the Colts fairly high up, but significantly behind the leaders in IR for the most part. I am sure there are many other ways to measure this, but this was the quickest way I came up with.

Well that's a bummer. Hull looked pretty good in his limited time.

Yeah, no doubt. Especially if/when we trade JT or let him walk. I think Moss is a FA after this year as well.

The is an IR cap. Not surprised, I can see some teams abusing the system to hide players and block player movement. |

There is no IR cap - teams can place as many players on IR that they need to as injuries arise - no matter if they are major or minor injuries. However, what is limited is the transaction to activate the player off the IR list - the team can only bring back players from the IR list 8 times over the course of a season. |
