If the Colts were 2-2 right now, considering their schedule, I think we would all be feeling pretty good....they just need to steal a game that nobody expects them to win! No better time than Monday Night Football!

What is there to define?? We see it every year.... Again let's use the Bucs last year.... They were 7-5 and noone had them pegged as the eventual SB champion then the won 4 in a row to "end" the regular season. Went into the playoffs as a hot team.... We see it nearly every year.

The Colts blew a very large lead against the Ravens last night, in similar fashion to the very large lead that they blew against the Steelers late in the 2020 season, a loss which cost them the AFC South title. That's the bad news.

The good news is that outside of a few extremely optimistic homers like myself, most Colts fans would have thought that it was an alternate universe in which they had a 22-3 lead late in the 3rd quarter against the Ravens, with an offense led by Lamar Jackson and a defense that was regarded as among one of the best in the AFC.

Subsequently, I'm still not ready to give up on the 2021 season. Outside of the Dolphins game, the Colts' early-season schedule has been rather challenging, to say the least. If they can beat the Texans next week, that will perhaps take this season off of the life-support that it is currently on, and move it to critical condition ...... that said, it is imperative that they win 4 out of their next 5 games, specifically the 4 games against fellow AFC teams (the rematch against the Titans, the game against the Texans, the game against the Jaguars, and the game against the Jets.) The only "affordable" loss in that 5-game span is an out-of-conference match against the 49ers, although it would suck pretty badly should the Colts lose that one and be sitting at 2-5 overall after 7 games.

After going right down to the wire against the Colts, the Ravens beat the hell out of a highly-regarded Los Angeles Chargers team whose only previous loss this season was a 20-17 nail-biter against the Cowboys.

This 2021 Colts team can play ...... they need to evolve into a team that can finish.

I will add that they played the Rams down to the wire too. If they didn't shit the bed in the red zone, most likely would have won that game.

And today, the Bengals beat the hell out of the Ravens by a score of 41-17 ...... in my rat's ass of an opinion, so much is still up in the air terms of how truly good (or truly bad) most teams are in the AFC.

Local sportswriter Mike Wells predicts a 9-8 finish for the Colts ...... and explains that it's hard to make the playoffs if you can't beat good teams.

Wells cites Carson Wentz' assertion that the Colts lacked "killer instinct" after blowing a 19-point lead in the final 18 minutes of regulation in an overtime loss to the Ravens ...... an assertion that Kenny Moore II echoed after the Colts blew a 14-point lead in an overtime loss to the Titans.

On the defensive side of the ball, Wells points out that the Colts incredibly have more turnovers (18) than sacks (17) ...... an indictment of the Colts' very noticeably weak pass rush.

Do the Colts have hope, after DOMINATING the Dolphins?

The team will probably win against the average/poor teams from here on, but can only beat the better teams if we get our injured guys back.

The games at Ravens, at 49ers, at Bills, vs Bucs, at Cards are probable losses without a fully healthy squad.
