I'll automatically assume people who say they are, are, and those who won't say it at all are not.
I have a Measles/Mumps/Rubella vaccine. I can't remember a time where I was ever afraid to tell the world I had it. |

I'm qualified to read the science and understand the data. The side effects are incredibly mild. Serious side effects are incredibly rare. It is not, as many want to say, some sort of "brand new technology" as it has been researched for 15 years since the first SARS outbreak. And its worth pointing out that many who of the same people who want to distrust medical science on this are perfectly willing to take the dangerous and ineffective drugs like hydroxycholoroquine and ivermectin. This reveals that the real issue is not a legitimate scientific skepticism but partisan rejection based on some misguided notion of liberty. The fact that you invoked totalitarianism just because someone (me) might think another person is an idiot and fool for not getting the vaccine reveals the partisan and politicization of this. I'm not the government, I'm not trying to force anyone to do anything. But the mere fact that you don't *legally have to* take the vaccine is not a reason to not take the vaccine. You should do it because you choose to do it, because it is both the responsible and intelligent thing to do. And if you can't understand that, if you can't trust standard legitimate medical science, then your politics are leading you down a road of foolishness. The fact that the mods of the Colts subreddit permabanned me for this sentiment is far more totalitarian than anyone trying to halt a significant public health threat. |

Reich had an interview today where he discussed vaccinations. He and Ballard are completely for the team getting them. They think it is good medically and give the teams with the most vaccinated players a competitive advantage. They have been clear with Colt players. The concern with requiring them is long term. They are trying to build to compete year in and year out. Player resentment can make that difficult (Green Bay). It appears they have chosen to take short term lumps (I read that as if they need to screw this season because of COVID so be it) to insure the long term happiness of the players. I understand their position. I don't think it will work out well for us either short term or long term. I don't know how players that are vaccinated like Buckner are going to be pleased with players like Wentz if and when he misses games because of his vaccine views. It is bound to cause turmoil.
I am commenting only on the effect vaccinationing or not will have on this team from a football standpoint. I don't think I am qualified to judge personal decisions of people I don't even know (and I've been a practicing physician for over 35 years). I am vaccinated as is my entire family. This harms the Colts from a football perspective, and that pisses me off. Last edited by Oldcolt; 08-31-2021 at 05:54 PM. |

There are other reasons why a person should get the vaccine.
Love thy neighbor. The hospitals are full with Covid patients. People with other serious medical conditions are having problems getting care. The hospital workers from the doctors all the way down to the people mopping the floors are exhausted. The nurses the doctors the people doing the paperwork are all at risk in a giant building filled with the virus. And if we can’t get people to go get vaccinated this will drag on. And for those people who think taking a parasite drug meant for cows and horses, because some idiot on the Internet said it was a good idea, go fuck yourself. Going to the farm and fleet and getting medicine meant for a horse is about the dumbest damn thing I’ve ever heard. This is natural selection you’re too damn stupid to survive. I know that’s harsh and I’m at the point now where I don’t care anymore. |

Personally, I know 3 people who have had serious reactions to the moderna vaccine, including a co worker who nearly died from blood clots, which she was told were a direct result of the vaccine. FWIW, she’s 36 and in excellent health and now she’s on blood thinners for at least 6 months. |

I had chickenpox when I was a kid. The week I turn 50, I plan to get the shingles vaccine. It's still a few years away, but y'all are free to suffer from shingles if that's your choice.

This season is probably fucked. When the QB, aka the most pivotal position on the team, is an anti vaxxer, this most likely won't be the first time this happens.
If it does, hopefully he can at least miss 25% or whatever of the season so the Colts can use a first round pick and draft a QB with brains. |

I doubt that this is the only time all season Wentz misses time because of Covid-19.
With Elhlinger out 6 weeks, I'm surprised they cut Hundley. *perhaps HotRod will come in at QB if Eason gets hurt
