I 100% agree. I didn't say otherwise. I know we're close...very close in fact. That's why this team is our "almost" team. Of course, I kind of felt that way last year, but Brissett was clearly a backup QB. We upgraded to a 39 year old vet QB who was elite 5 years ago and won 11 games. However, due to his age, the lack of a true #1 WR, and the youth and gaps on our defense, it wasn't quite enough.

We aren't that far away, which makes this even more frustrating. It also stems from Luck's unexpected retirement. I'm mostly over it, but this is the first playoff game we've had since his unexpected retirement and I can't help but think that we'd be a 13-3 or 14-2 elite team if we had Luck this season. We are so close to being that, but now we're still scrambling trying to find a QB that can fill that void. The rest of the team is better than when we had Luck, but QB play has obviously regressed a great deal.
