Default Nice article about fitness

http://www.indystar.com/story/sports...hy-1068085002/

I really like the tone of the article. The recognition that this team was not prepared at all and leaving no stone unturned to improve us. Weighing in weekly with fines if you are overweight!! Wow a regime that apparently believes in accountability, they give you a weight and a body fat and actually expect you to stay there. I love the attitude. Lets hope it pays dividends for us

The Bears and Chicago media were always very bullish on Rusty Jones. The Bears have had a ton more injuries since he left, so there's some evidence that his approach works.

NFL radio had a neuro-surgeon on yesterday and he was going off about the league and their protocols. One thing I thought was interesting was he said players don't get enough sunshine and should practice outdoors more because it promotes healing. He said being in front of screens too much and receiving blue light from TV and monitors reduces melatonin and hence reduces drastically the ability of players to heal. Thought is was an interesting discussion.

Don’t know. But I have been hearing more and more on the negative effects of too much screen time and light from them: tv phone, computer. It can disrupt your sleeping pattern and the quality of your sleep. Drains melatonin etc. third time I’ve heard people talk about in the last six months.

Vitamin D absolutely helps healing to some extent. Players could get it from multivitamins, though.

I’m sure they get it with the amount of supplements these guys take now.
