This morning Holder was on 1070 talking about this. He openly said what we did with Bynum calling the plays was STUPID, and that our rotation of LB's was / is DUMB and how there can be no cohesion established with us running these guys in and out.
He was blatant in his trashing of how unbelievably bad the communication was on Sunday and said he polled the entire NFL prior to the season and no other team was doing the shit we were doing and how he is shocked, that we were shocked that it didn't work! Then a little bit ago it comes out that we are going back to LB being the green dot. https://coltswire.usatoday.com/story...e/91792037007/ When Allen was drafted, consensus was he is not a supreme athlete, that he isn't the sideline to sideline instinctive demon, but he was a tactician, a guy who would LEAD the D with his intellect and professionalism ala the ultimate green dot guy. Dude doesn't even see a snap in the 1st game. So what is the deal, is he just another one of Ballard's huge whiff's- so incapable of running the team that he can't even be trusted on the field? Is he too unathletic to keep up (ummmm we all did see how UNATHLETIC the other LB's were this weekend right????), or is it just Lou stubborn dinosaur ass idiot who refuses to give a rookie that level of responsibility out of principal? It's probably a combination of the 3 really----- which is a frightening scenario for us to be THAT FUCKING FAR OFF on a 2nd round pick! This organization, is a disgrace, they ALL need to be canned! |

Also, apparently Bynum said after the game he wasn't even aware of another DB doing it and how it was a challenge.
YOU FUCKING HAD A FULL PRE-SEASON TO REALIZE THIS WAS GOING TO FLOP! Lou Anarumo shouldn't be allowed to coach pee wee football. Unreal, just fucking unreal. |

I’m sorry, but this isn’t true. Holder should have done better research. Safeties are usually the second choice to call plays behind a ILB. Plenty of teams have done it and do it today. Especially if they run a rotation at linebacker, which is also not unusual either. Rams, Ravens, Giants, Packers, Steelers, Saints, Eagles have all done it off the top of my head. You have a smart safety that stays on the field every down they usually get the nod.

The real baffling thing is why can’t Allen get on the field? What the hell is that? Hell, Carlies played the majority of the game and didn’t have a SINGLE STAT. No tackles, no assists, no nothing. You’re telling me Allen can’t do that? |

Carlies was outmatched by that running game and heavy TE looks. I think he is a specialized cover LB only. I mentioned in the other thread, we saw a record low use of cover 2 and 3 week one. Means offenses have changed and are trying to counter the cover 2 schemes that have been so prevalent the last couple years. Defenses will have to adjust. Never ending chess game of football. |
