Default Is anyone desperate enough to trade for Anthony Richardson?

The Rams were rumored to have some interest, but the move to draft Simpson seems to take them out of the running. The Steelers are rumored to have interest, but I suspect that that’s little more than internet puffery, click bait at its worst.

When you look at a team like the Steelers, a team that relishes a reputation for conservative, old fashioned team building, you have to ask why would they be interested in a reclamation project like AR?

It’s said that he has potential, but the glimmers have been too few and too far between. For every eye opening play, there are two that make you scratch your head and…

I mean how much of a market is there for a sub .500 passer who can’t hit a receiver in the flat, a guy who has displayed little interest in film study and preparation, someone who can’t stay healthy, and who checks out when the going gets rough?

The only reason he has a future in free agency is because the league is lousy with coaches who believe that they have a magic wand that can turn quarterback dreck into gold if only they have a chance.

Most GM’s know better. They know that, with Anthony Richardson, you’re reaching deep into a rusting barrel, scraping sludge out of the bottom. If you sign him, he’s the 3rd or 4th spot on the depth chart, and how many teams are willing to take a flier on a guy who needs to be coddled along for 2 or 3 years before he sees the field?

Kinda harsh. There is very little market for a developmental QB at 5 million dollars. Most teams still have a roster to develop and money is finite. He will find a market if he is cut or at the end of the year. Hard to believe he was considered the future of this franchise by the same powers that now run us a short 3 years ago. Good enough for the 4th pick no less. He seems like a good human being himself so I hope for the best for him.

I still say a late round pick swap is all we’ll get for the guy. He’s just to inconsistent and injury prone.

I said he sucked before we ever drafted him, and I was not wrong. I said that whole QB class was sub par, and I wasn't wrong. CJ had a good rookie season but has digressed ever since. The film on AR told us exactly what we were getting, and people act shocked because we got what the film said we would get. I don't want Ballard anywhere near a top pick for a QB. I do think Irsay had more say in it than is reported, but damn, someone should have talked some sense into him!
