In the short run, it may wind up being very unfair for a few teams, depending on how things play out this coming weekend ...... in the long run, it may wind up being a good thing if it calls more general attention to the brutality of the game, the short-term and the long-term (sometimes lifetime) injuries that the players sustain, and the number of games being played.
The last thing in the world that was needed was to add that 17th regular season game prior to the 2020 season ...... if anything, they probably should have gone back to playing a 14-game season. Maybe this entire, tragic scenario will at least force the league to focus on some of their decisions in regard to this.
Also, with the exception of Thanksgiving Day, it would probably be a good idea to do away with
l Thursday Night Football.
If nothing else, it will be interesting to see how the proverbial
) "Health of the Players vs. Profit and Entertainment" ) decisions wind up playing out ...... more often than not, profit and entertainment trump over the former.
