Won't really know for sure till you get him in camp. He could be a catching TE, he is a decent and willing blocker on the outside. I don't know if he could take on a DE though. He might be just a hybrid type player. He has a better catch radius than a lot of TE's I see and this is a weak TE class. At best he can be an X receiver and a stretch receiving TE. He would be a huge mismatch on a LB not named Isiah Simmon or one of these new big nickles. If y ou take him, I would take another WR though as well.
