Not to harp on it, but the OT rules really irritate me. People will say "you need to get a stop," but it's systematically unfair to the team that loses the toss. You need 2 positive outcomes in order to win (stop + score), whereas the team that wins the toss only needs 1 positive outcome (TD) to win. It's the most ludicrous setup for extended play in all pro sports. Just think about it:

NBA: each team gets 5 minutes, equal chance at possession
MLB: each team gets 3 outs on an inning by inning basis
Soccer: equal 15 minutes extra periods, followed by 5 penalty shots
NHL: golden goal, but each team has equal chance at possession
Yeah, I've never liked it either. Plus I think defenses are at a disadvantage at the end of the game. Then they had a tie this week also, so the system doesn't even work all that well. They say it forces a team to be balanced, but it really just forces one team to be balanced, the team that loses the coin toss. But most teams are lopsided builds today, and if the coin flip favors the team that is lopsided then it is an unfair advantage.

The secondary play overall was not that good. Geathers looked pretty bad out there, Kenny Moore was getting burned. My biggest fear was this dline is not big enough and it showed yesterday. I hope this is not going to go on all season. Teams are going to go after the interior dline till they can show they can stop the run. Yeah yeah 'last season' someone will say, but this is a new season and teams have had an offseason to scheme.

Everytime we play the Chargers we seem to fall into the trap of letting them utilize their strengths. Until we learn to take the strengths of teams away we will be a good team not great. How many freaking screens have the Chargers run at us over the years? Seems like amillion and they always work.

Still despite all that we should have won if just one or two mistakes go our way. The offsides, the Ebron catch, just one of Vinnie's misses. Long season to go and already injuries are shaping the AFC.
