Does anyone know if Vinatieri's missed field goal attempt late in the 3rd quarter was partially blocked ???

I thought that I heard the sound of someone getting a piece of the ball before it fell short of the goalposts.


Also, I think that occasionally a kicker is partially to blame himself for not getting enough elevation on a kick that is blocked (as opposed to the offensive line just doing a bad job of blocking.) I'm not sure if that was the case this here, as it was a relatively long attempt (48 yards), in which case the kicker needs to sacrifice some of his elevation for distance.
