There are 2 ways to get better as a team:
1. Bring sub-standard position groups up to at least NFL average.
2. Strengthen already strong groups in order to make them outstanding and give you an out weighted advantage.
Adding Poe to what should be an already strong DT rotation would follow the second rule rather than the first rule which would be a fine way to help strengthen the defense....as long as it does not come at the sacrifice of signing Linebackers, O-Linemen and DEs which are at a much higher ranking of need (see way #1 above).
And, like many have said, other than Norwell, Nate Solder and perhaps Navarro Bowman and Malcolm Butler, whom else do you think will be available in free agency that would make a bigger impact on the Colts roster than Poe that we will spend money on? (RB Bell from PIT would be one but I cannot see Ballard throwing that kind of money at him)
