Listening to Venturi on Dakich's show and while it's mostly a repeat I picked up a couple of new nuggets I found interesting....

1. Today was the first day of padded practice and he said it's the first time in years that he saw the Colts really hitting the way they would at game time. He said it really looked like a practice from the "good ole days". When you really practiced as hard as you play in a game. He was really juiced about the real-ness of the padded practice.

2. Regarding how practice is designed / what's different from camp under old leadership......he said there is a lot less 1x1 drills and more practice in the actual sets you are going to run in the game. He thinks it's a better simulation of game time reps then what they did in previous camps.

3. He was giddy about the fact they were working on stack, bunch, and rubs today. All last year he was vocal about the fact that chud's kindergarten design didn't use those high percentage approaches to get the receivers open.

4. Best new quote....I don't want to go to Afghanistan with a bunch of peacemakers.....responding to question about whether this "nasty" mindset is important or just hyperbole.
