The goal always was 4 in a row for the Colts ...... the Packers were the first team to win 3 legitimate world championships in a row in 1965, 1966, and 1967.
I say "legitimate" because 1933 was the first season in which all NFL teams played the same number of games, and decided the world championship on the field with the champion of the East and West divisions pitted against each other ...... the Packers also technically won 3 consecutive world titles in 1929, 1930, and 1931, but the NFL prior to 1933 had teams playing a different number of games (some teams would play as many as 19 games while others played as few as 10 games),
AND there was no playoff ...... the NFL simply took the team with the best winning percentage in however many games they played, and declared them to be world champions.
