Which is not to say that there aren't more intriguing games, because there are ....... it's just that this particular game is not only monumental to the 2 teams playing in it, but also to the overall playoff picture in the AFC.
1) l The Bills vs. the Lions is expected to be a highly anticipated barn-burner, but they play in separate conferences.
2) l The Steelers vs. the Eagles is expected to be a highly anticipated barn-burner, but they play in separate conferences.
3) l The Chargers vs. the Buccaneers is big for both teams, but they play in separate conferences.
4) l The Texans vs. the Dolphins is pivotal, but not quite as pivotal as the Colts/Broncos game because of the fact that the Colts already beat the Dolphins, and own the tie-breaker.
5) l The Packers vs. the Seahawks is big for both teams, but only highly pivotal for the Seahawks ...... the Packers were swept by the Lions, and have virtually no chance to win the NFC North. And barring a complete collapse, the Packers are a shoe-in for a Wildcard berth.
6) l The 49ers vs. the Rams ...... this match-up, which was won by the Rams last night, was arguably on equal par with the Colts vs. the Broncos game in terms of importance for both teams for
BOTH the NFC West division title picture
AND the NFC Wildcard picture.
