To me that is exactly why he isn't a Hall of Fame player, he was a top 10 guy, year in year out for receiving yards, he was never a TD machine, he had a couple of fabulous years in terms of yards, but the Hall of Fame is meant to be the elite of the elite. Even in the years you suggested Wayne was the leagues best, Larry Fitzgerald and Randy Moss (Moss was coming to the end of his career by 2010) were in my opinion close to or possibly better.

Of the three Wayne had the most yards with 5278
Moss 4158
Fitzgerald 5069

But where Wayne was a long way off was in TD's, he only had 32, whereas Moss had 52 and Fitzgerald had 41.

This is not to belittle Wayne in any way, he was an all time great Colt and really good NFL player, just not in my opinion good enough to justify being in the Hall of Fame.

Your argument about Hester over Wayne. Do i think throughout their entire careers that the overall value Wayne brought to the NFL was more than Hester, of course i do. Do i think that Hester is one of the all time greatest return specialists, yeah i do, and hence why i have no issue with him getting in.

If you are going to select Wayne over Hester based on the positional need requirement, there are a lot of offensive linemen that shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame and many more QB's inducted. Which to me would be mad.
