At the end of the day, there are only about 10-15 NFL QBs in any given year that their team, coaching staff and head office are at complete peace with. They have zero worries about the state of their QB play.

Those guys are just rare. Dozens, if not hundreds, of guys have the physical skills to play in the NFL at QB but few of them are able to handle the academic requirements and stress that comes with the job.

I am excited by the opportunity Richardson represents but also completely understand that if he does not eventually become one of those 10-15 guys for the Colts, that is to be expected. There are just not that many folks who can play in this game at that high of a level. The "dud" rate of drafted 1st round QBs is greater than 50%.

I hope he plays for us a lot closer to his ceiling than his floor but even if he does not, I will not be mad because...that, honestly, is to be expected.
