Coincidentally, Jabbar (who was still Alcindor at the time) along with Jim Brown, Bill Russell, and numerous other Black athletes supported Ali at the Cleveland Summit Project in June of 1967.

He was Ali before I knew who he was. I lived close to Louisville, where he was raised, so
i could have heard the name Cassius Clay before then, but I didn't. I must be younger than you are, lol.

Being from the area, I heard his song quite often.
