Slow News - Random JT Tidbit

I was reading some stuff about JT still be 5th all-time in rush yard per game and discovered another interesting fact: JT is one of only 6 players in NFL history with two 20+ TD seasons.

The other five are Emmitt Smith, Marshall Faulk, Priest Holmes, Shaun Alexander, and Ladainian Tomlinson.

More interesting... all five of those players' seasons were back-to-back years. I think that speaks to the dominant offensive ecosystems those teams had. The Cowboys, Chiefs, and Seahawks in particular had absolutely monster Offensive Lines that a lot of people considered the actual MVPs.

The Rams' system and firepower caught the league by storm for a few years. And the Chargers had stacked rosters for a couple years in the mid-2000's.

JT's seasons were 4 years apart with some injury-riddled seasons between. Different HC/OC's, and the O-Lines were completely different except for Quenton Nelson. Definitely an outlier in that regard.

Also consider that after Jones broke his leg, JT went from 114ypg (6.0ypc) down to 63ypg (3.3ypc) and he scored 3 TDs in the final 7 games.

Compelling what-if.
