JT Tuimoloau…advanced metrics
The team seems to be high on JT.. or Jaylahn… so I thought I’d take a moment to dive deeper into his stats. Numbers here are courtesy of the NFL’s Next Gen Stats.
I know that it’s dangerous to extrapolate season long performance based on a limited number of plays, but…. I’m not sure you can do anything else. So, for better or worse… As a statistical note, I have normalized some of the statistics for 500 snaps. If a player only racked up 400 pass rushes, I adjusted his numbers upward. If he rushed 600 times, I adjusted them downward. JT had around 120 attempts, but I dismissed the first few games in which he saw extremely limited action. It’s unreasonable to expect much when you play only 3 or 4 snaps. I also didn’t include any sack numbers since he…didn’t have any. That number, by the way, was the best single game performance turned in by any of the 11 players I looked at. |
Someone needs to make a big jump on the defensive line if we are going to go anywhere and JT has the athletic ability. We sure as shit are due to hit one, lets hope its him.
